American Airlines flight attendants vote to authorize a strike, although a walkout still unlikely

Flight attendants at American Airlines have voted in favor of authorizing union leaders to call for a strike, in an effort to pressure the carrier during pay raise negotiations. The union president warned that American Airlines should not ignore the vote. However, the vote does not guarantee an imminent strike, as legal strikes in the airline industry are difficult to conduct under federal law.
